Osmania Medical College Metro Station

We are here to usher a new development mode for the city of Hyderabad with the Hyderabad Metro Rail. The project is designed for the benefit of Hyderabad and to find a long-term and effective solution for traffic woes in the city. The project, as you are aware includes three corridors and LB Nagar to Miyapur is the corridor I of Hyderabad Metro which spans for more than a distance of 25 km.

Osmania Medical College (OMC) is an important station located on this corridor. The station at this most important intersection has been conceived to reduce traffic congestion in routes like Kacheguda- Afzalgunj, Chaderghat- Mozamjahi market and Koti-Old city route.

OMC station is currently being constructed at a rapid pace, and this would usher a new sense of growth for not only Koti but also the nearby bustling centres of Abids and Afzalgunj too. After Hyderabad undergoing a radically different shift with the development of IT and services sector towards Madhapur region, the growth of these regions has become stagnated while traffic woes have only grown manifold.

Apart from being the centre of medical education, Koti is an important commercial hub close by and the MGBS station is located very close in Afzalgunj. OMC station caters to all these regions too connecting them with the important bus terminus to other key destinations of Hyderabad. Koti is all set to undergo a tectonic shift with Metro ushering the much needed growth for this region and would be scripting a new phase of development, ushering more connectivity as well as a dynamic growth in the surrounding regions.

Once operational, our OMC station would also feature important amenities, shops, gift stores, groceries and other retail outlets for the benefit of commuters, resulting in commercial development too. With modern amenities and advanced construction methodology, OMC station would be the centerpiece of the futuristic metro project that is all set to change the face of Hyderabad. The station would be a new landmark for the busy intersection of Hyderabad, we have designed the Metro for serving as a hub of quality public transport.

Durgam Cheruvu Metro Station

For a sustainable development of Hyderabad, a global city, wherein an efficient public transport system is indispensable, our Hyderabad Metro Rail, which envisages three corridors across the city, is touted to be an ideal solution.

Durgam Cheruvu Metro station lies on the Corridor III, connecting Nagole towards one corner of the city with Shilparamam, in the heart of Cyberabad.  Owing to its proximity to a tourist attraction called Durgam Cheruvu, our metro station is poised to not only serve as an important station on this corridor but also as a hub for tourists who intend to visit the water body, popularly known as secret lake.

Once hidden from the sprawling metropolis of Hyderabad, amidst scrub forests and rocky landscape, the advent of Information technology companies and the services sector has transformed the growth of this region like never before. The region close to Durgam Cheruvu is also a residential hub with many apartments and high rises dotting the landscape. With its strategic location close to Hi-tech city, many professionals prefer to buy property in this region, which makes it easy for daily commute.
Once the Durgam Cheruvu Metro station becomes operational, we can assure that traffic hassles would be a thing of the past and a ride on our Metro offers a reliable, safe and ultra modern transport which is rapid and efficient. The future growth of Durgam Cheruvu would be complemented by the arrival of our Hyderabad metro rail, which we consider to be a futuristic transport solution.

We are able to see how metro stations are being completed at a brisk pace, ushering a modern infrastructure for the region with world-class facilities for transport and also a host of other amenities by means of the metro station, for catering to the commuters. The retail space at our Metro station offers much scope for outlets like ice cream parlour, laundry store, grocery store, bookstore, gift shop and many more.  With Durgam Cheruvu Metro station, we would redefine growth along the transit corridor, close to Madhapur and Shilparamam so that we can usher the right boost for overall development of the region as a residential and tourist hub, close to the business district of Cyberabad.

Prakash Nagar Metro Station

The much-awaited Hyderabad Metro Rail is progressing as per schedule, heralding the promise of ushering an international experience of effective public transport system for the people of Hyderabad.  The corridor III of Hyderabad Metro Rail has been planned from Nagole – Shilparamam and this includes various sections such as Nagole-Mettuguda, Mettuguda-Begumpet and Begumpet- Shilparamam.

Prakash Nagar Metro Station, an important station on Mettuguda-Begumpet section of corridor III is being completed at a remarkable pace, for realizing the dreams of the denizens of Hyderabad in coming few months and years.
Begumpet Airport, a significant civilian airport, which is now only serving charter aircraft and VVIP movement, propelled the growth of this region especially from 1970 till 2008, resulting in a large influx of residential apartments, educational institutes, banks, commercial buildings and other thriving activities. Located on an arterial inner ring road connecting Tarnaka and Uppal region through Paradise with Ameerpet and Punjagutta, Prakash Nagar is an important junction of Hyderabad.

It is a key station of corridor III and it is more important, as it lies exactly in between the two interchange stations of Parade grounds and Ameerpet. Parade grounds station connects corridor III with corridor II. This makes it easier for commuters to switch to JBS-Falaknuma route of Metro Rail. Ameerpet interchange station connects corridor III with corridor I, wherein commuters can switch to Miyapur-LB Nagar route of Metro.

Prakash nagar station is being spruced up with modern equipments for platform construction, overhead rails, and other major aspects of metro station. Once the station becomes operational, in addition to restoring the earlier era of Begumpet’s high thrust development, it would be a hub of activity with a public transport system like Metro. Prakash Nagar station is all set to provide a renewed push for the overall development of this region giving access for commuters from the residential and commercial hotspots of the old airport region for travelling to other far-flung areas of Hyderabad city.

Value Added Ticketing Services of Hyderabad Metro Rail

A Metro can be called truly modern based on the technology it adopts. In this regard, the ticketing solution, which has been proposed for the Hyderabad Metro Rail, is a state-of-the-art Automated Fare Collection System (AFC). This is based on Contactless Fare Media Technology.

L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd had earlier announced the arrival of a prototype of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system in Hyderabad from Korea. The prototype of AFC has been manufactured by the company Samsung SDS. L&T Metro Rail has adopted this modern fare collection system, which makes it swift and easier for passengers.  These machines can handle high traffic so that there are no long queues. They come with enhanced revenue security and are considered user-friendly since ticketing gates and vending machines are very much user friendly for the physically challenged. They also feature an induction loop for the hearing impaired as well as interactive touch screen menu. This is considered an important milestone for Hyderabad Metro Rail Project.

The fare collection system envisages categorizing the Metro Stations into two separate areas such as 'paid' and 'un-paid' areas. The paid and unpaid areas would be then separated by the automatic entry and exit gates and fencing. This ensures that the person only with a valid ticket can enter the system. The system has been designed as a closed one that features ticket checking at the entry and exit, which ensures 100% ticket check -in system.

The Automatic Fare Collection System is best-suited and also recognized world-over. It comes with a web application for commuters to top-up/recharge their contactless smart cards through internet. This system will be accepting coins, banknotes, bank credit/debit cards as well as smart cards for the payment mechanism. The proposed Automatic Fare Collection System has some key sub-systems such as Automatic Gates, Ticket Vending Machines, Ticket Office Machines, Add Value Machines, Ticket Readers and Portable Ticket Analyzers.

The tickets issued for Hyderabad Metro is of two types. They are Contactless Smart Card (CSC) and Contactless Smart Token (CST). The contactless tokens are pre-paid options for journey between a fixed set of metro stations and they can be bought for a single trip/ return trip and is suited more for non-frequent users. Contactless Smart Cards are like stored value cards and available as either monetary (e-Purse) form or non-monetary (Pass) form or combination of these options for attracting the regular and also frequent users. In this system, the money value, which is equal to fare between any two metro stations, is deducted automatically from the stored value at exit Gate.
