City Acquaintance - Dilsukhnagar

L & T Metro Rail is ready to be commissioned in the next few months. L & T Metro Rail is an ultramodern transit system that brings multiple benefits that are accruing to the citizens of Hyderabad. The transit system connects major bus stations, namely Miyapur, MGBS, Koti, Dilsukhnagar, Charminar and Jubilee Bus Station.
An important trade centre
Dilsukhnagar is one of the largest commercial hubs in Hyderabad. With bustling shops and business centres, it comes on the Corridor I: Miyapur – LB Nagar: 29 km (Stage 5: S R Nagar to L B Nagar) and is one of the 27 stations on Corridor I.
Transit point for buses
Dilsukhnagar is a major bus station as a changing point for buses from different regions, which the authorities have taken into account. As per the intermodal integration arrangement between Metro Rail and State RTC to take care of passengers from Nalgonda, Khammam and Coastal Andhra and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), the Dilsukhnagar bus station will be the transit point for inter-state and inter-district bus services.
Positive impact on the region
In the adjoining/adjacent space in the neighbourhood of the Metro Rail station commercial centres, facilities and amenities around to cater to the everyday needs of passengers would come up. These include, retail outlets (fast food and other consumer good outlets), ATMs, medicine shops, laundry shops and so forth. Owing to this, property prices including commercial real estate are buoyant in the region.
Further, Metro rail is likely to alleviate traffic congestion, which is commonplace in the area. It is likely to boost connectivity between Dilsukhnagar and other major urban centres in the city: bus stations, rail stations, educational institutions, hospitals, major places of tourist interest, and others.
The bus station at Dilsukhnagar is named 'floating population' because people come here from every nook and cranny of the country in search of employment. With Metro Rail coming up, this region will be further elevated: it will boost trade in the region, and would create new and more employment and income-earning opportunities.

Once the station becomes operational, in addition to restoring the earlier era of Begumpet’s high thrust development, it would be a hub of activity with a public transport system like Metro.
