What is Lost & Found?
The Lost & Found team at Hyderabad Metro Rail retrieves any item that happened to be lost or misplaced by commuters during the course of their journey or on station premises with items ranging from valuables like jewellery, wallets, cell phones or any other objects of interest.
In addition to retrieving items, they put in extensive efforts to have the items returned to their respective owners. The team informs the customers if the item is recovered. Also, if you find anything suspicious, please report to the station staff immediately on 040-2333-2555.
Ever since the inception of Hyderabad Metro Rail, there have been numerous reports and incidents of items being misplaced or lost by commuters during their journey or on metro station premises and the successful recovery of the same lost items. Here are some amazing stats pertaining to lost and found items:
Till date, there have been 850 cases of lost and found reported to the authorities. Out of that, we have returned approx..400 items to their respective owners.
200 accolades have been given so far.
Here are a few success stories of Lost & Found where our exemplary service touched hearts:
- A passenger by the name Rohini Rao happened to forget her bag at the SR Nagar metro station at the ticket counter while on a visit to Numaish. Upon being alerted, she returned to the station four hours after the incident and to her surprise, she noticed that the metro staff had kept the bag safe and secure. She also claimed that the bag had sarees worth Rs 12000. She thanked Hyderabad Metro Rail for their service.
- A metro commuter with the name SK Noorjahan forgot to collect her handbag at the baggage scanner while travelling from the Miyapur metro station. The Miyapur Station controller, Srinivas, was proactive, and traced her promptly by sending a message from the station’s operation control centre and wasted no time in handing her back the bag which contained her cell phone, cash worth Rs 30,770/- and headphones. She was pleased with the service from the Hyderabad metro rail staff and thanked each member of the staff personally to express her gratitude.
- A commuter by the name Ashish Samyal happened to misplace his wallet while travelling in the metro on the 12th of February, 2019. Upon discovering that, he informed Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities. The following day, he received a call from Hyderabad Metro Rail employee Ms Sravanthi, who informed him that his wallet had been found and he could come and collect it from the metro station. Impressed with their proactiveness, in his own words, he said “I am delighted. Kudos to Hyderabad Metro Rail.”
With the above incidents and many other success stories of kindness, gratitude, compassion and going out of one’s way, the metro staff have gained a very healthy reputation over the little time since its inception.
