Stick No Bills

Hyderabad, the fifth largest city in India in terms of area and population has a unique reputation in India as a progressive and modern city. Hyderabad metro rail is a feather in the cap for the historic city, which is also renowned as a hub of services sector and industrial development.

Our Hyderabad metro rail, stretching for nearly 72 km in first phase, is considered a panacea for the public transport challenge in the region with its modern metro coaches that can carry thousands of passengers every hour across different directions. It is the responsibility of every citizen to preserve the property of Metro rail and maintain the sanctity of the pillars, viaducts and other infrastructure which is exposed to public across the length and breadth of the corridors.

Affixing pamphlets, posters and sticking bills on pillars is an offence and grossly violates the exclusivity of the Metro rail project. With an unsightly appearance, the defaced pillars are not in tune with the image of Hyderabad and that of the world-class Metro rail project. It not only results in a poor image for the city but also becomes an eyesore, if such practices are unchecked and encouraged.

Therefore it is everyone’s responsibility to uphold the prestige, and values of Brand Metro Rail and cultivate a sense of self restraint, by avoiding any damage or placing hoardings on the Metro. The practice of affixing posters is equivalent to vandalizing the property of Metro. Hyderabad Metro Rail is not only a PPP project but also a promise of hope and an  assurance of a better tomorrow for the denizens of Hyderabad, for decades to come. Hence, it is important to preserve the property for the posterity and ensure the pillars remain free of publicity materials and adopt a serious stick-no-bills policy.
