Hyderabad Metro rail is a dream infrastructure project, which
is considered as the right solution for Hyderabad’s traffic woes and inadequate
public transportation system. The project with three corridors spanning for a
length of 72 km is poised to transform the manner in which public transport is
viewed in Hyderabad city.
The metro stations, as part of this project have become a
boon for the regions in which they are being built. Habsiguda, a key
intersection on Tarnaka-Uppal road was a sleepy, non descript region of
Hyderabad whose main claim to fame was the reputed central government research
institutes such as CCMB, IICT, NGRI, Survey of India etc.
The corridor III of Hyderabad Metro which goes through
Habsiguda has significantly boosted the property rates in this area. This has had a cascading effect on the
success of various retail businesses in the area, other commercial
establishments and educational institutions with a promise of a rapid metro
rail that would be connecting this locality with other regions of the city.
With a mass rapid transit system like Metro, Habsiguda, which
is also an upmarket residential locality has seen a wonderful transformation
with the metro station now almost being completed. Once the metro rail becomes
operational, then Habsiguda has all the potential to become a hub of long-term
development and other high-end residential and commercial projects. Most
colonies of the locality are just one to two km away from the arterial road on
which the metro line runs. Therefore, a grand project like that of Hyderabad
Metro is a value add for this region that connects Hyderabad with Secunderabad.
Also being a gateway to regions like ECIL and Ramanthapur, metro rail has set
the stage for a highly worthy transformation of Habsiguda area.
