The
much-awaited infrastructure dream project of Hyderabad, the Hyderabad Metro
Rail is now in its countdown phase with the first phase of its operations all
set to begin this year. The project has come a long way, from its inception in
the form of pillars and erection works to the current brisk pace of
construction.
The
project has three corridors in its initial phase and LB Nagar-Miyapur stretch
represents the Corridor I of Hyderabad Metro Rail, which is nearly 29 km in
length. The corridor has 27 stations and Khairatabad is a key station situated between
the Lakdi-ka-pul and Irrum Manzil metro stations.
If
there is any region that can be truly called as the heart of Hyderabad, it is
Khairatabad. This locality connects modern Hyderabad with traditionally
renowned parts of Hyderabad. The
corridor I is an important section connecting two distant suburbs of the city
and connectivity through a key intersection of Hyderabad like Khairatabad is an
advantage for commuters.
The
Khairatabad metro station is also being built at an impressive pace while the
pillars and viaducts too are in place connecting important parts of the city.
With the development of Cyberabad, there has been a shift in the region’s
growth favourably towards areas like Madhapur and Gachibowli, but the Metro
which comes with a promise of equitable development across all localities is
all set to provide a fillip for the region. Once this corridor is operational,
Khairatabad is expected to regain its status as an important commercial hub
that lies in the midst of major thoroughfares connecting various regions of
Hyderabad.
Hyderabad
Metro Rail is geared up to transform this well known locality of Hyderabad and
Khairatabad will be an important part of the project, ushering modern and rapid
connectivity that would transform the public transportation system in the city!
