Hyderabad
Metro Rail, the ambitious infrastructure project which is all set to transform
public transport system in Hyderabad is one of the most eagerly awaited
projects in last few decades. True to its word, Hyderabad Metro Rail is
progressing at an impressive pace reflecting its commitment to the development
of Hyderabad city, through a Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS).
There
are hundreds of pillars being erected for this project across the three
corridors stretching for nearly 72 km, namely LB Nagar-Miyapur (Corridor I),
JBS-Falaknuma (Corridor II) and Nagole-Shilparamam (Corridor III). Moreover,
there are numerous stations coming up across the corridors, which is the pride
of Hyderabad city.
It
is indeed a project that heralds much hope and promise for the foray of
Hyderabad as a global city with outstanding mode of public transport. However,
it is also the collective responsibility of everyone to make sure that the
invaluable properties of Hyderabad Metro Rail are maintained properly.
It
is highly important to see that the pillars and other exposed areas of Metro
infrastructure are not desecrated by unwanted promotional materials, illegal
hoardings and any vandalism. Any damage to the Metro properties of Hyderabad
will not only result in a physical damage in terms of cost but it will also
harm the image of the city, while becoming an eyesore for the public.
The
project is not only a solution for traffic woes in the city but it is an
important milestone that has to be safeguarded for decades to come. It is
therefore the need of the hour to ensure a stringent stick no bills policy to
ensure that the entire infrastructure of Hyderabad Metro Rail right from
viaducts, pillars, metro coaches to elevators and metro coaches are maintained
with utmost care.
