Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has introduced IGBC
Green Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) rating to encourage eco-friendly ‘green’
aesthetics, construction and operation. The rating system assists to address national
priorities like conserving natural resources, save energy and water, renewable
energy and waste management that will benefit passenger health and comfort.
IGBC Platinum Certification was awarded to 17 elevated
stations of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project - Stage I & II.

The prestigious award was presented by Mr C N
Raghavendran, Chairman, IGBC - Chennai Chapter in presence of Mr A.K.Tewari,
Adviser (EnHM), Railway Board, Ministry of Railways and Mr V Suresh, Chairman,
Policy & Advocacy Committee, IGBC.

Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited, stated “It is a proud moment for L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad)
Limited. The IGBC Platinum rating reinstates the fact that L&T has followed
the best international practices in constructing the Hyderabad Metro Rail
