  1. Accessing the Metro Station:

The metro station has three levels (street, concourse and platform) which can be entered and exited using staircases, elevators and escalators.

Staircases

  • We suggest our patrons use staircases in order to stay fit and avoid gridlock.

Elevators

  • All of our stations have the facility of elevators to make it convenient for senior citizens, visually impaired and those with special needs.
  • Passengers carrying heavy luggage, baby strollers & trollies are recommended to make use of the elevators for your convenience.

Escalators

  • When choosing to use escalators, make sure to place your feet firmly and face the moving direction.
  • Hold the handrail firmly for your safety.
  • Passengers who are accompanied by children are recommended to hold their hand.
  • Make sure to move away from the escalator as soon as you reach the platform.

       2.   Buying Your Ticket:

Buying a Smart Card is the smartest choice for a Hyderabad Metro rail passenger. You can buy the Smart Card once and recharge it as and when you need to. This will serve as a smart wallet. You can buy or recharge your Smart Card at TOM located at concourse level or register for it online and collect it at your desired station.

You can avoid the process of buying a token every day and can enjoy an even more seamless journey. Not just that, if you are a Smart Card user, you are entitled to a 10% off on every metro ride. You can buy ticket (token) from Ticket Office Machine (TOM) which is located at the unpaid area of concourse level or from the Ticket Vending Machine (TVM).

      3. Passing Through Security Check and Entering the Paid Area:

Both the entry and exit gates are located on four sides of concourse level, dividing the stations into a paid area where passengers with a valid ticket are only allowed and an unpaid area that includes the retail area, ticketing area up to the security check.

  • Security Check

To ensure safety and security of passengers in Hyderabad Metro Rail, all stations are equipped with baggage scanners and metal detectors.

  • Entry and Exit Gates

All the stations are equipped with three types of gates that are; Entry Gate, Exit Gate and a Bi-directional/wide gate. These gates are automatic and open for each passenger to pass through when the token or the Smart Card are presented at the reader terminal of the gate. The gates close as the passenger enters through it.

Children below 90cm/3ft do not require a ticket and can enjoy the metro ride for free.

      4.   Finding Your Way In The Station:

We are committed to providing a seamless and an efficient journey to our patrons. Each metro station has different modes of communication to keep the passengers updated with information. Below listed are a few modes of communication:

  • Passenger information boards like network map, station layout, local area map, timetable, Dos & Don’ts etc.
  • An emergency evacuation plan and emergency exit signage to safely exit the station.
  • Passenger information display and audio announcements to keep the passengers informed about train timings.
  • Help Points on the platform enabling passengers to connect station coordinator in case of emergency.
  • Emergency Call button inside the train has been provided in case the passenger wants to connect to the train operator for further assistance.
  • Station staff are available at the Customer Service Centre to provide any additional information required.

  5.   Boarding And Deboarding The Train:

Your safety is our first and foremost priority! Here are a few guidelines designed, keeping in mind the safety of passengers.

  • Passengers are requested to stand behind the yellow line on the platform to keep a safe distance from an arriving or departing train.
  • Before boarding the train, form a queue at both ends on the platform and let the passengers exit first.
  • Once you enter the train, take a seat and if a seat is unavailable, hold the handrail firmly.
  • We request passengers not to eat or drink inside the metro.
  • Designated spaces are available for wheelchair users and specially-abled passengers.

  6.   Exiting Your Station And Reaching Your Final Destination:

The signages on the platform will guide you to the concourse level. From there, you can select any exit point after referring to the Local Area map that will assist you in making the correct exit point that is closest to your final destination. Present your smart card or drop the token at the selected exit point to exit the station.

We request everyone to follow the user guide of Hyderabad Metro Rail to enjoy a safe and pleasant metro experience.
